古典煤油燈燈蕊有分兩種規格
料號 W-276: Feuerhand Baby 276系列火手標準規格燈蕊, 寬 12.5mm x 長12cm。
料號 WICK-FLAT: Petromax HL-1 煤油燈蕊, 寬 10mm x 長 12cm。
Petormax HL-1 的燈蕊也可以用在 Feuerhand Baby 276系列火手燈，如果W-276燈蕊缺貨，可改購買較便宜，燈蕊寬度較細的WICK-FLAT 替代，效果差異不大。
棉燈蕊編織方式, 會略有伸縮性, 新品剪裁後, 沒有拉緊狀況下, 實際長度可能會短 3mm, 此為布料正常伸縮公差
新的煤油燈蕊(約12cm), 或是已經乾固的燈蕊, 請加入煤油後靜放約20分鐘，讓燈蕊吸收煤油後，再點燃，可降低燈蕊損耗。
可以將燈蕊點火處剪成圓弧狀，可讓火光形狀更像合併的手型
建議使用煤油，使用其他油品可能會加速燈蕊損耗。
